The stars of Rotherham’s pantomime are spreading festive magic by wishing everyone a Happy Christmas.
The sparkling cast of Cinderella took to the boards at the Civic Theatre for their first performance on Tuesday 2 December. They will be performing a total of 77 spectacular shows before the curtain comes down again on Sunday 10 January 2016.
So far, more than 21,000 people have booked to join in the fun as Fairy Godmother Maureen Nolan uses her magic powers to make sure Cinderella (Sophie Wysoczanski) is the belle of the ball in her amazing glass slippers.
But will Cinderella be swept off her feet by Prince Charming (Carl Tracey) or will the ugly sisters (Chris Aukett and Andy Brennan) manage to get in the way of true love?
The traditional family panto, which also features comedy star Rollo as Buttons, promises hilarious jokes, lots of chances to boo the villains, shout ‘It’s behind you’ and sing along with a host of well-known songs.
Cllr David Roche, Advisory Cabinet Member with responsibility for cultural services, said: “We know that many families make a visit to the panto part of their regular Christmas celebrations and they really get involved in the show.
“Cinderella is a fantastic show for all the family – there’s something in it for everyone so come along and join in the fun.”
