The arrival of flugelhorn-playing Gloria brings hope, to the band on the brink of collapse, but no one knows who she’s really playing for. ..

Jeremy and Celia return a week early from their unsuccessful honeymoon to find that both Jeremy’s partners have accepted his offer to stay in his house while he is away. The only problem is that they have each brought the other’s wife with them. Jeremy discovers one illicit couple, Celia the other.

Both issue invitations to them for dinner. Complications pile up thick and fast as, realizing their dilemma and desperate to make a good impression on Jeremy’s colleagues, the couple stages two dinner parties simultaneously, one on the patio and one in the dining room.

As if there aren’t problems enough, Sid the plumber, up to his eyeballs in water in the cellar, has to call in the Water Board Emergency Service just when all seems resolved and Jeremy and Celia are attempting to salvage their lost honeymoon.

The play tells the hilarious tale of Thelma Henderson deceased who cannot gain entry through The Pearly Gates as the system has gone digitalised and she has the incorrect paperwork. Thelma is told to wait by the scrapyard gates until the issue can be resolved but she finds herself a rather reluctant Guardian Angel watching over her school friend and the one true love of her life, Billy Blenkinsopp.

As Peter dozes in his deckchair listening to the final test from The Oval his wife announces that she has sold the house and is moving to the coast with her lover.

When the new owners move in later that day they discover they have more than they bargained for: an elderly, cricket-loving squatter who refuses to move out of their garden.
