Spring is here and already Rotherham Civic Theatre is busy planning for Christmas! So it is with great anticipation and excitement that Rotherham Theatres can proudly announce the spectacular pantomime flying into Rotherham this year is – Aladdin.
The pantomime will run from Wednesday 3 December 2014 to Sunday 11 January 2015 and it promises to be an ideal pre or post-Christmas treat!
Rotherham Theatres manager Mark Scott explained the early excitement for the festive tradition. “Rotherham audiences love panto, with many telling us year after year that it wouldn’t be Christmas without our festive fayre, so we at the theatre like to make sure we deliver the best show possible and try to go one better every year”.
“We are therefore very proud to announce that the pantomime for the 2014/15 season is the beloved tale of Aladdin. Oh no it’s not! Oh yes, it certainly is, and we’re thrilled”.
“It’s a show that is an undoubted fan favourite and one that lends itself perfectly to the festive season with a mix of magic, wonder, great songs, great comedy, a villain to hiss at, a lovely princess and, of course, a hero to save the day”.
“We’re announcing the show now because tickets will be going on sale on 1 April and, no fooling, those key dates that everyone wants, specifically Christmas week and weekends, sell out fast, very fast, so make sure to get your seats is you want that festive treat”.
“Cast details are yet to be finalised, however we hope to be in a position to reveal our exciting line up in the not too distant future”.
“We are delighted to welcome Shone Productions, who are a genuinely fantastic forward-thinking modern company managed by James Shone, who produce shows with dazzling dance routines, great songs and stunning scripts”.
“One of the things returning this year, and something we’re very excited about, is the live band, who will be replacing the pre-recorded tunes of the past to bring some real, lively atmosphere to the show. We haven’t had a live band for panto for over a decade so it will be a really special occasion and something to look forward to.
“I’ve no doubt that this year will be a special one for panto fans in Rotherham and I can’t wait to see sold out show after sold out show”.
